It only seemed right that I started this blog reviewing the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette. Huda’s story inspired me to create this blog in the first place so it was important to me that my first post was reflective of that. Now onto the review,

The Huda Beauty Desert Dusk palette retails for $65. The price point in my opinion is sort of high for an eyeshadow palette and is a little more expensive than what you would pay for other high end palettes. You get 18 shades so each color would cost about $3.6 if that helps put everything into perspective. It comes with 8 matte shades , 6 pearl-shimmer shades, 3 duo chrome topper shades, and 1 glitter shade.

I ranked each shadow from 1-5(being the highest) on Pigment, Blendability, and Fallout.

Cosmo [GLITTER]
N/A - This is a glitter and will not apply the same as the other shades. You will need to use a glitter glue for this product. I use one from NYX that works perfectly. I swatched this shade dry (w/o glitter) with the rest of the shades and swatched it separately over glitter glue. (I apply glitter glue on a flat eyeshadow brush and tap it onto my eyelid and then tap my brush into the glitter to try and build up up the glitter instead of going in intensely on the first try) Cosmo with glitter glue is the photo next to this.
Angelic [SHIMMER]
Pigment: 5/5
Blendability: 4.5/5
Fallout: 0/5
Cashmere [SHIMMER]
Pigment: 5/5
Blendability: 4.5/5
Fallout: 2/5
Overall the blendability in this palette was great and there was little-to-no fallout on almost all of the shadows. The pigment is also great but I have seen other palettes that are better. Duo Chromes in this palette are made as toppers meaning that you should put one of the matte shadows underneath as a base shade then apply the duo chrome eyeshadows on top. I think this is a good palette for beginners because since this isn’t AS pigmented as others, you can build up the product by going into the shades multiple times and because of how easy they are to blend you will not have a problem if you pick up too much of a shade and are trying to fade it out. This palette is on the warm side so if you are not into warm palettes than this one isn’t for you.
Overall: 9/10
